    Description

    The specimen in this listing is Caldwell Kansas Meteorite, weighs 59.6 grams and is 88 X 66 X 4 mm in size. It will come as pictured with a specimen / certificate of authenticity from the Kansas Meteorite Society. Caldwell, L imb. Meteorite; Sumner Co., Kansas USA; 1961; TKW 12.9kg.
    A single stone of  12.6 KG was found in 1961 by a farmer outside  of Caldwell, KS. The stone was first recognized as a meteorite by H.H. Nininger an L Chondrite in 1976 but later classified as an L-imp melt by Alan Rubin at UCLA. The meteorite has remained in the family until recently when it was acquired by an associate member of the Kansas Meteorite Society.  The Caldwell main mass will become a part of the Kansas Meteorite Society's permanent collection.
    The provenance of this specimen is from Steve Arnold Meteorites.
