Al Haggounia 001 meteorite end piece - EL Melt

Description

Enstatite chondrites are a very rare class with the only readily available (and reasonably priced) specimens being this large find from an ancient fall.  I has gone through several different classifications due to the variety of material with the latest being an EL melt.   Most of these stones are broken fragments, covered with caliche, and down-right ugly.  However, when cut, the enstatite crystals sparkle in sunlight.
This particular stone is more attractive than most and has an usual layered appearance.
