    Description

    Here is a very nice Niloak Pottery "mission ware" swirl tall candlestick. It has blue, white, brick red, and brown clay colors with good contrast. Marked with the firm's artware die-stamp.  It measures 9 3/4 inches in tall and 6 inches in diameter at the base.  It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws. In 1909 or 1910, in Benton Arkansas, Charles Hyten developed this swirled hand thrown artware in which the clay colors were mixed and carefully planned in relationship to each other. Some of the other swirl potteries are Ouachita, Ozark, and Evans. A good piece of southern swirl pottery .
