NWA 11244 Pal 63.89g SALE! Polished Endcut of a Desert Pallasite Meteorite

Item for auction is a 63.89g polished endcut of a new pallasite that was found in North West Africa earlier this year in 2017. The meteorite consists of many stones totaling 1197g, and was analyzed by Dr Tony Irving, who reports that its c
omposed mainly of relatively large grains of olivine (Fa12.8-13.4, FeO/MnO = 61-62) and iron hydroxides (from terrestrial weathering of primary metal). Some residual grains of kamacite and tetrataenite remain, along with accessory chromite, merrillite and troilite
. The meteorite has some weathering issues, as most of the iron has been converted to magnetite and other minerals, and the olivines tinted a darker, amber coloration, not unlike a fresher Huckitta. There are some translucent olivine crystals in the matrix. This specimen would make a perfect addition to your collection. This meteorite comes with a Big Kahuna Meteorites Certificate of Authenticity. Scale cube in photo is 1cm on each side, and not included in sale.
